1978 Triumph Stag
1970 witnessed the exciting arrival of Britain's answer to the Mercedes SL, the Triumph Stag. The Stag consisted of a stylish two door open tourer body (styled by Triumph favourite Michelotti) with an all new Triumph 3 litre V8 engine, producing 145bhp with a rorty V8 burble. The Triumph Stag stayed in production until 1977, by which time just under 26,000 had been manufactured.

Our car is a rare manual overdrive transmission car, finished in Brooklands Green with black interior. First registered in February 1978, WKR 260S is one of the last Stags (production ended in June 1977), and was originally painted Java Green (very bright, very 1970s!).

Owned by the same family for the last 15 years, our Stag was professionally restored in 1999, and is fitted with the factory hardtop as well as a mohair soft top. WKR 260S drives very smoothly, and with its power steering and electric windows, delivers refined performance.
